Why homeowners add on
Additions solve a challenge — not enough space, or a home that no longer works the way your family does. They can take the form of a new primary suite, a home office, an extra bedroom or two, a family room, an Arizona room, an in-law suite or a rental unit. You stay in the location you love and make the home more comfortable and efficient.
Should it match the rest of the house?
That is entirely up to you. Some homeowners want an addition that looks like part of the original construction; others want a distinct look and feel. We have designed both, and everything in between.
What determines the cost
Size is the biggest factor, followed by the type of structure, the site and the design details and features you choose. Extra square footage can also affect property taxes and insurance, and HOA communities may have their own requirements. Our home addition cost guide goes deeper.
Permits, zoning and HOA approvals
Our team manages 100% of the permitting process: structural engineering, city setback and zoning compliance, and HOA architectural review submissions in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Gilbert, Chandler and across the Valley. For guest houses, Arizona’s 2024 ADU law now requires larger cities to allow them — see casitas & ADUs.
